AS WE EXPERIENCE BATHROOM RENOVATIONS this week, there are some changes in restroom availability. Toilets will be available in Rooms 117, 116 and 114. Please follow the signs to these areas, or ask for directions at the Welcome Center. We appreciate your patience as this exciting second-stage of our Capital Campaign proceeds.

OUR NEXT RED CROSS BLOOD DRIVE will be held here at CPC on Friday, August 18, from 2 to 7 pm. There are two donor thank you gifts: a Dunkin Donut Coupon for a free iced coffee and donut, which you will receive at the blood drive and a $5.00 Target gift card, which will be emailed approximately 2 weeks following the blood drive. NEWSLETTER DEADLINE. Ministry and committee leaders, please begin to think about preparing articles for our late-August/September “Hands & Feet” newsletter. Article deadline is tomorrow, August 14.

BILL TOWNSEND RECITAL – Saturday, August 26 at 4:00 pm. church member Bill Townsend will present a vocal recital with West Chester pianist Don Bristol. The recital will run a little over an hour, and will include works by both American and international composers. No payment for entry, but a free will offering will be made towards Bill’s studies in New York and the coming operatic audition season.

HIS MISSION. Please stop by the trifold board in the north narthex this morning and pick up a donation slip for our August meal for His Mission. This month we will provide sloppy joe sandwiches, cole slaw, corn on the cob, watermelon, and ice cream bars. His Mission also needs paper towels, toilet paper, bleach, vegetable cooking oil, coffee, napkins, salt and pepper, dish detergent, dish towels and dishcloths. Any of these items are always much appreciated. Please bring them to church by next Sunday, August 20. Thank you for your generosity.

CAFÉ CENTRAL is a wonderful opportunity of fellowship following worship each Sunday. We are looking for a couple of hosts for September 10 and September 17. Information about what to do (it’s easy!) and to sign up is available at the Welcome Center. Thank you for volunteering.

SUMMER OFFICE HOURS. The church office will be open during the summer from 9 am to 2:00 pm Monday through Thursday and from 9:00 am to noon on Fridays.

COLLECTION BOXES for our November 5 “Extending the Table” meal-packing event for Rise Against Hunger (formerly Stop Hunger Now) are available all summer long in Fellowship Hall. Drop in 29 cents to offset the cost of a single meal, or $2.90 toward 10 meals. By November we hope to have most of the cost of this wonderful ministry covered!

Game ticket only is $16; bus and game combo is $30. So excited for this fun CPC fellowship activity!

MARK YOUR CALENDARS NOW for a new adult education opportunity this fall. Beginning September 21, a 10-week class entitled “Half Truths” will meet Thursday afternoons in the Prayer Room, from 1:30-2:45 pm. Come join this study of popular and often-used sayings such as “God helps those who help themselves” or “Everything happens for a reason,” as we explore what the Bible has to say about them.

2018 GENERAL ASSEMBLY. Donegal Presbytery is seeking Teaching Elders, Ruling Elders and a young adult (ages 18-23) to be part of our delegation to next summer’s General Assembly (GA). Our Presbytery’s GA Commissioners and Young Adult Advisory Delegate (YAAD) will speak and make decisions at General Assembly, the national governing body of the Presbyterian Church (USA). The meeting will be held in St. Louis, Missouri on June 16-23, 2018. Please contact the church office if you are interested.
