CHANCEL FLOWERS THIS MORNING are given by Kathie and Dan Marks in honor of their first grandchild, Andrew William Markley, son of Natalie Marks and Matthew Markley.

WE WELCOME AS NEW MEMBERS THIS MORNING Craig Engesser, Nanlee and Tom Hollis, Amy Keenan and Chris Weikel.  Please greet them warmly after the service!

PLEASE JOIN US next Sunday May 6th following Worship when the CPC Handbell Choirs and Woodwind Ensemble host “Extending the Table.”  Come enjoy a light breakfast and listen to a variety of musical and movie music performed by our very own Central musicians!

NURSERY VOLUNTEERS NEEDED.  One volunteer is needed each week to serve with Ann Lash in the infant room. Please sign up on the calendar outside the nursery to support this important ministry.

GODLY PLAY Storytellers and Shepherds: Please plan to gather at 11am this morning, in room 105. We’ll reflect on our year, and begin to plan for next year. Tell Amy Lisk, please, if you plan to attend.

OUR MAY COMMUNITY LUNCHEON will be held from 11 am to 1 pm this Thursday, May 3.  Come enjoy delicious homemade soups, salads, sandwiches and desserts and a time of great fellowship.  All sales support the work of the CPC Working Guild.  Take-out orders are welcome; just call the office at 610-269-1576 to place an order.  Thank you for your support!

OUR SYMPATHY AND PRAYERS are with the family and friends of CPC members Sharon and John Brookover, whose grandson Thomas Walsh passed away suddenly on April 22.

IN HONOR OF OUR MOTHERS. Stop by the PW tables in the narthex on the next two Sundays, Sunday, May 6 and May 13.  PW will provide Mother’s Day cards in exchange for donations to our Presbyterian Women’s Mother’s Day Project for 2018, Healthy Women, Healthy Families.

BACCALAUREATE SUNDAY is June 3, when during worship we will recognize all of our graduates from high school, college or higher-level degree programs.  If someone in your family is graduating, please contact the church office at 610-269-1576 or email [email protected] as soon as possible.  We would like the graduate’s name, where graduating from, degree, future plans, and a picture if possible. Thank you.

NEW CPC GROUP.  A new 20’s and 30’s social group is forming at CPC!  Whether you are married or single, student or parent—all stages of life are welcome!  We plan to meet roughly once a month just to hang out on Friday for game nights, outings, dinners and more.  Our first get-together will be a bowling night on May 25.  Join our Facebook group “20’s & 30”s Social Group at CPC Downingtown” for more details on this and future events, or talk to Alexandra Barainyak or Jess Clark to be added to a mailing list.  We can’t wait to meet you!

MAY 5 IS RUN FOR THE SON.  CPC member Kevin Sorrell is once again participating in a fundraiser ride for the Christian Motorcyclists Association, an inter-denominational ministry that provides transportation for pastors and Christian workers around the world. To give online (www.cmausa.org/run-for-the-son), just click “Donate Now”, then enter amount for Run for the Son, along with Kevin’s name and member number (Kevin Sorrell, #122267).
