CHANCEL FLOWERS THIS MORNING are given to the glory of God and in loving memory of Mildred Sapovits by Rick and Cindy Sapovits.

 

YOUTH OUTING THIS EVENING at Paradise Farms Pond, 6-8 pm.  No pre-registration required, just meet there.  The pond is located near the intersection of Valley Creek and Ravine Roads. After coming through the tunnels on Valley Creek, it will be a LEFT turn onto Ravine. Kids will be able to canoe and fish, hang out and walk around the pond. All gear provided, but people are free to bring their own poles, if they want. Bring a water bottle. See Amy Lisk if you have questions.

 

SIGN UP TO PLAY LASER TAG on Sunday, August 12. We will leave CPC at 5 pm, return at midnight after 4 hours of laser tag and a stop at Sonic. Cost is $30.  We can take up to 30 youth and adults. Drivers needed! Please RSVP to Amy Lisk and get on the list!

 

 

JOIN THE YOUTH GROUP FOR A LOVE BOMB EVENT spreading love and kindness in our community on Wednesday, August 8. We will fill food boxes, pass out popsicles, place happy notes on windshields and blow bubbles. If you would like to join us, rsvp to Amy Lisk.  If you’d like to donate food or hygiene items, drop them in Amy’s office before 8/8.

 

NURSERY VOLUNTEERS NEEDED.  One volunteer is needed weekly to serve with Ann Lash in the infant room. Please sign up on the calendar outside the nursery to support this important ministry.

 

HEARTS IN HANDS needs 3-4 people to assist with their golf outing on Monday, August 13, to help with set up and take down, registration, and being observers at selected holes around the Honey Brook Golf Club where skill events will take place. Set up starts around 7AM, and take-down should be completed before 2 PM. No golf knowledge required. Please contact John Yurkutat  to volunteer.

 

COME TO “THE WELL.” The Well is a community center initiated by Hopewell UMC that offers services such as support groups, job training, and after-school activities and tutoring, in conjunction with and complimenting already existing local programs.  It is located at 107 W. Lancaster Avenue in Downingtown Borough.  Renovations are on-going on the areas already in use and on apartment units that will be used for Bridge of Hope families.  The Mission Committee is organizing crews to join The Well’s regular monthly workdays on Saturday, August 18 from 8:00am – 4:00pm.  All skill levels are welcome!! A sign-up sheet is waiting for YOU at the welcome center.  Please contact Kevin Zeeger  if you have any questions.

 

PLEASE MARK YOUR CALENDAR for the Blessing of the Backpacks on Sunday, August 26, during worship.  Students and teachers are invited to bring their backpacks for a special blessing for their school year and will be given a backpack tag.

 

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED.  In order to keep Café Central going for the summer and fall, we need volunteers to sign up for August and September.  Please stop by the bulletin board next to the Welcome Center to pick a date that you might be able to help.  Thank you!
