CHANCEL FLOWERS THIS MORNING are given in Memory of Douglas and Marjorie Turrell by Koren Motel.
ANNUAL MEETING OF THE CONGREGATION AND CORPORATION is called by the Session for March 1 at 10:30 am. Plan to join us in Fellowship Hall as we reflect on 2019 and receive information about our Strategic Vision and next steps forward! Childcare will be provided for infants through 8th grade.
WE WARMLY WELCOME REV. DR. MICHAEL WILSON back to CPC! Michael has been the Stated Clerk/Facilitator for Developing Leaders for Donegal Presbytery since the beginning of 2016. Prior to this, he was the pastor of Chestnut Level Presbyterian Church for 15 years. As Stated Clerk, Michael supports congregations and pastors in our presbytery.
INTERESTED IN EXPLORING MEMBERSHIP AT CPC? There will be a New Members/Inquirers class this Sunday at 11:00 a.m. This class is not only for those who are ready to commit to membership, but also for those who have questions about membership. Come find out more about what it means to be a Presbyterian and what CPC believes and does as a body.
CAFE CENTRAL HOSTS ARE NEEDED in March. If you can help out, please sign up at the Welcome Center. Refreshments can be simple, directions are thorough, and there is a small budget available. Everyone loves our fellowship time, and we hope to see it continue with your help! Please contact the March captain, Smith/Veit family, if you can help with a Sunday in March. Thanks for volunteering!
ASH WEDNESDAY WORSHIP: Feb. 26 @ 7 p.m. Join us for a service of worship and an opportunity to participate in the imposition of ashes, as we mark the beginning of the season of Lent – our journey of reflection and preparation for Holy week and Easter. Childcare will be available for children infant to age 4.
ADD SOME WONDER TO YOUR LENT!
- Wednesday evenings during Lent, beginning March 4, our WONDER! experience will include the following:
- 6:00-7:00 Dinner (please remember to sign up each week!)
- 6:30 Jr. Bells
- 7:00 IMPACT Middle School and Spark! Elementary groups
- 7:30 Bell Ensemble
- 7:00-8:15 Two Adult Opportunities for Your Lenten Experience (see details below)
“LIVING YOUR LENT SHEEPISHLY: AN ADULT WONDER CLASS” (with homework)
Join us in the Prayer Room for a call to a Lenten focus and discipline found in Jesus’ “Parable of the Sheep & Goats” in Matthew 25. Rather than follow the tradition of giving something up as a spiritual discipline, we will challenge ourselves to take something on each week that will commit us to Jesus’ call and way of seeing and tending to those in need. Raising our awareness, engaging our compassion, changing a habit, responding in concrete actions – all “sheepish” ways of living Jesus’ way in this world. Join Jenny Warren and the rest of the flock on Wednesday evenings!
LENTEN PRAYER STATIONS: Each Wednesday Rooms 107-109 will be set apart for quiet, individual contemplation at Prayer Stations. A variety of stations will be available each week to encourage participants to reflect personally and meditatively through prayer. Spend as much time as you want or are able, skip the stations that don’t appeal to you, and visit as often as you’d like through Lent. Examples of stations are on display in the narthex today, so you can know what to expect when you arrive.
