Announcements for the week of June 24, 2018

EXTENDING THE TABLE next Sunday will welcome Nikki, Allen, and Naomi Jordan, and their friends Mike and Kay Killar and children, missionaries in Thailand.  Please stop by the Mission bulletin board near the water fountain to learn more!

EXTENDED ONE MORE WEEK!  The Lord’s Pantry Veterans/Back to School Sock Drive.  Since 2015, Central has hosted the Lord’s Pantry’s summer sneaker distribution to its clients who are veterans or children returning to school in the fall.  The Mission Committee is holding a sock drive this month to support that event.  New, athletic socks for those age 5 to adult are being collected in the Pantry food boxes at each end of the narthex today and until July 1.  Thanks for your support!!

OUR PRAYERS are with our Troop 23 Scouts as they leave today for summer camp.

SUMMER CHILDREN’S WORSHIP TEACHERS NEEDED for kids age 4 through entering 2nd grade. Sign up to teach on the board next to the Welcome Center. Lessons are designed around a simple art project or science demo, and are available from Amy Lisk. Grab a partner, and volunteer!

“COME AS YOU ARE CHOIR” IS BACK!  You are invited to come as you are to the choir room any or all summer on Sundays at 9 am to rehearse the anthem. Please see Anne Cowburn for more details.

PARKING LOT RENOVATION “SALE”.  The Capital Campaign team continues to offer the opportunity to sponsor, for $10 per square yard, any size area of the parking lot you choose. See the campaign team at our table outside Fellowship Hall.  Thank you for your continued faithfulness and support.

OUTSIDE SPRUCE-UP: While the weeds in our flower beds are quite happy, the rest of the plants there need attention! Volunteers are requested for a CPC flower-bed clean-up…general weeding, thinning, and cutting back. Are you willing to give an hour or two to this cause? We can meet either on a weekday, evening, or after a Sunday service. Would like to have this done in the next week or two (before the weeds get too used to being there). Please contact Nancy Kammerer at [email protected] or 610-269-6907. Thanks!

THE WIRED WORD ADULT EDUCATION CLASS will continue to meet throughout the summer on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th Sundays of each month at 11 am in the Prayer Room.  Please contact the church office if you would like to join the class so that the weekly lessons can be sent to you.  Please contact John Yurkutat, Kelly Kelly or Barbara Nielson if you have questions or would like more information about the class.

HEARTS IN HANDS is looking for high school or adult volunteers to help with their summer camp.  See the notice on the bulletin board in Fellowship Hall for more information.

PHILLIES GAME UPDATE!  On Sunday, July 22, a coach bus will take us from the CPC parking lot down to beautiful Citizens Bank Park for the 1:35 pm Phillies game versus the San Diego Padres.  You can sign up for a game ticket only (you provide your own transportation); or a bus and game combo (cost is still being determined.) Please sign up today at the Welcome Center. Bus seating is limited to 54, so please sign up now! Payment information will be made available soon.  So excited for this fun CPC fellowship activity!

NURSERY VOLUNTEERS NEEDED.  One volunteer is needed weekly to serve with Ann Lash in the infant room. Please sign up on the calendar outside the nursery to support this important ministry.

VISIONCORPS, a sight loss support group that meets here at CPC on the 3rd Tuesday of each month from 12:30 to 2:30 pm, is looking for volunteers to transport visually impaired persons to and from the meetings.  These meetings have been extremely valuable for those suffering from major vision loss and blindness. Please contact Claire Hinkle at 610-741-6378.
