CHANCEL FLOWERS THIS MORNNG are given by Bob and Nancy Schmid to the glory of God and in honor of their 40th Anniversary.
THE INDEX CARD in your bulletin today is for a memory, quote or drawing for the Black Family, to remind them of the fun times here at Central. They can be placed on the bulletin board in the main hallway. We’d like everyone to participate!
PLEASE STAY AFTER WORSHIP for a picnic celebrating the service of Rev. Tim and the Black Family, as we join in saying goodbye. There will be lots of good food, games and activities, plus a celebration cake and a chance to say thank you to Tim for his work here at CPC and the gifts he has shared with us.
WE WELCOME CMA TO CPC. The Christian Motorcyclists Association (CMA) is an interdenominational Christian outreach ministry to the motorcycling community. Part of their ministry is to visit churches on the 5th Sunday of the month. We welcome them in worship this morning. Following the picnic, the CMA and those who have come to church this morning on their bikes will go on a ride. There is a table in the west narthex with information on the ministry of CMA and what they are all about.
COME AS YOU ARE CHOIR. Come to the choir room on Sundays at 9:00 am to prepare an easy-to-sing anthem for the service. If you have ALWAYS thought, “I’d like to try singing in the choir,” then come as you are—all voices and ages welcome!
VBS SKIT FILMING. Tuesday, July 2 at 7pm, we’ll be filming some Bible story skits that will be shown at VBS. We still need about four people to be in the videos and help behind the scenes as we film. Students in middle or high school and adults are invited to help out, even if you aren’t otherwise involved in VBS. Come on out, drama enthusiasts!
NO CHILDREN’S WORSHIP NEXT SUNDAY Next Sunday, July 7, the nursery will be open for kids age four and under, but older kids will remain in worship. We will have Children’s Worship for the rest of July. Please make use of the kids’ activity bags and sheets located at the tables just outside both sanctuary entrances.
CPC FELLOWSHIP EVENT. Sign up for LASER TAG on Sunday, July 14, 5pm-midnight. We can take 30 people to play. Middle and High school students, friends, and adults are invited to join us for this really fun night playing together. It’s a private event for our church, so we need to pull together a big group. Cost will be $30 per person, which covers 4 hours of laser tag games, pizza and snacks. On our way home, we stop at Sonic for ice cream–bring $$ for that treat. Talk to or email or text Amy Lisk to get signed up or if you have questions. DRIVERS needed!! Bring a friend!
80 PLASTIC MILK OR JUICE BOTTLES are needed for a craft for VBS, which begins July 22. That is a lot of bottles! And not a lot of time to collect that many, so please begin now! Pint, quart or half-gallon containers can all be used. Ask a friend to help us collect, too! Drop off your donations, marked VBS, in the church office. Thank you!
VOLUNTEER TO BE A LITURGY LEADER. Would you like to be more involved in our wonderful worship services? We want to invite you to take a new step into worship by volunteering to help deliver the liturgy to the church. Examples include delivering the scripture before the sermon, reading a prayer, or helping deliver announcements every so often (i.e. not every week). Time commitment is minimal, but the effect of having you join us in the leadership of our worship services will be huge! Contact Jessica Clark-Weikel with any questions or to volunteer.
CAT SURVEY SUMMARY. In the past few weeks, we’ve shared interpretative data provided through the Congregational Assessment Tool (CAT) survey. If you didn’t have a chance to hear the summary or participate in a conversation (held after Worship last week), the CAT Overview provided by Session has been posted to CCB. It’s available in the “Files” section of the Entire Church Group area (email Wendy Aucker if you’d like it emailed to you directly). In closing the conversation on this topic, we want to reflect back from the data itself and share some personal perspective given to us by the leader of the consulting group: CPC is health and thriving; we’re doing really well and we should be really happy and confident in our future. THANK YOU ALL FOR BEING THE DIFFERENCE WE WANT TO SEE AT CPC AND IN THE WORLD.
PW MIRIAM CIRCLE will meet on Monday, July 1, at 10:00 am at Wegman’s Café. Anyone is welcome to come for this fellowship time—you don’t have to be a circle member. Contact Anne Marie Mandell if you have questions.
VBS DONATIONS. Across from the Welcome Center is a bright yellow bulletin board with a list of supplies requested for VBS. Please help us collect them. Many can be picked up at craft or dollar stores. The supplies are due July 14. See Rae Ann Lukavsky if you have questions. Thank you for your donations!
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED. In order to keep Café Central going for the summer, we need volunteers to sign up. Please stop by the bulletin board next to the Welcome Center. Thank you!
