Announcements for the Week of May 27, 2018

CHANCEL FLOWERS THIS MORNING are given to the glory of God and in loving memory of Melissa Murdoch by Bruce and Patty Murdoch.

TODAY WE REMEMBER those who have lost their lives in military service, and we are thankful for those who have served our country.  The red, white, and blue flowers given by the Memorial Committee in our church flowerbeds are in memory of those CPC members who have served and who have joined the Church Triumphant.  Please stop by the Archival cabinet in the West narthex this morning to see our memorial display.

A CELEBRATE SUMMER COFFEE HOUSE will take place this Friday, June 1, from 7 to 9 pm in Fellowship Hall.  The coffee house will feature the Anna Spackman Trio of Phoenixville.  Sign up at the Welcome Center to bring your favorite strawberry or summertime dessert.  Hope to see you there!

GRADUATE RECOGNITION is next Sunday, June 3, when during worship we will recognize all of our graduates from high school, college or higher-level degree programs.  If someone in your family is graduating, please contact the church office at 610-269-1576 or email [email protected] as soon as possible.  We would like the graduate’s name, where graduating from, degree, future plans, and a picture if possible. Thank you.

THERE IS NO GODLY PLAY THIS MORNING.  Children’s Worship for children ages 4 through those who have completed 2nd grade will begin next Sunday, June 3.

COMMITTED TO OUR FUTURE – HOME STRETCH – PARKING LOT RENOVATION “SALE”.  Similar to our earlier efforts to defray the costs of equipment and other items for the kitchen and bathrooms, the Capital Campaign team will be offering the opportunity to sponsor, for $10 per square yard, any size area of the parking lot you choose.  So bring your checkbook or grab some spare cash, and see the campaign team at our table outside Fellowship Hall for more details and disclaimers (e.g., your donation does not entitle you to a reserved parking space!).  Thank you for your continued faithfulness and support.

LOST AND FOUND.  Please stop by the lost-and-found table in the Narthex this morning to claim any item that might be yours.  There are also many coats on the West narthex coat rack that have been there for months.  All unclaimed items will be donated to charity at the end of this week.

YOUTH CANOE TRIP.  The Youth Group will be paddling down the Brandywine on the afternoon of Sunday, June 3. If you’d like to join us for this free event, please RSVP to [email protected] or talk to Amy Lisk today. Students who completed grade 6 and up welcome and adults too!

NURSERY VOLUNTEERS NEEDED.  One volunteer is needed each week to serve with Ann Lash in the infant room. Please sign up on the calendar outside the nursery to support this important ministry.

HEARTS IN HANDS is looking for high school or adult volunteers to help with their summer camp.  See the notice on the bulletin board in Fellowship Hall for more information.

SUMMER CHILDREN’S WORSHIP.  Godly Play takes a break for the summer, but our kids ages 4-2nd grade still head out of the sanctuary each Sunday starting next week for Children’s Worship, an art or science activity along with a Bible story.  Two teachers are needed for each Sunday in June, July and August. Lessons will be provided. Sign up next to the welcome center. Thank you for volunteering.

KIDS CENTRAL PRESCHOOL’S open registration for the 2018-2019 school year is on-going.  Spots are limited.  Please call Robin in the KCP office at 610-269-0297 or email [email protected] to schedule a tour.

PLEASE MARK YOUR CALENDAR for the next Pancake Breakfast, sponsored by the Mission Committee in support of their mission activities.  The breakfast will be next Sunday, June 3,  at 8:30 and 10:30 am.

STAIR CHAIR AVAILABLE.  A free stair chair and/or 10-foot aluminum ramp with handrails is being donated by Jim Sciandra free to anyone in need.  Please contact Jim Sciandra or the church office, 610-269-1576,  if you are interested.

PLEASE NOTE:  The church office will be closed on Monday, May 28, in observance of Memorial Day. Summer office hours will begin on June 4:  Mon-Thurs, 8:30 am to 2 pm and Friday, 8:30 am to noon.

MINISTRY LEADERS, please let the church office know if your ministry/committee will be meeting during June, July and/or August. If you are not meeting during the summer, we also need to know your September start-up date and preferred fall meeting schedule.  Thanks very much!

THE NOMINATING COMMITTEE requests prayers and suggestions as we work to fill leadership positions.  If you know a member who is called (or should be) to serve as an Elder, Deacon, or Trustee, please let us know!  You may submit names and committee recommendations in the Officer Nomination Box at the Welcome Center.  Thank you in advance for your support and your prayers!
