THIS MORNING WE WELCOME ANDY MAYO, CEO of the Medical Benevolence Foundation, who is here today to honor CPC for its 30+ years support of their ministry.  Please stop by the MBF table in Fellowship Hall during Café Central to learn more about how our mission dollars provide training and resources to local health workers in impoverished communities.



CALLING ALL SINGERS! “Festival Choir” will sing special music for Thanksgiving, November 24; Advent, December 1; Longest Night Service, December 15 (afternoon); Christmas Carols and Lessons, December 22 (9:30 am.); and Christmas Eve (10:30 pm). We will begin practicing for these on Thursdays, 8:30-9:00pm and Sundays at Noon, beginning today.



KIDS CENTRAL OPEN HOUSE.  Thinking about preschool for next year? Get a head start and stop into the Kids Central Preschool Open House on Monday, October 28 from 6:30 to 8 pm. SIGN UP FOR THIS WEEK‘S WONDER! DINNER at the Welcome Center or online at  Dinner will be BBQ Chicken sandwiches. Gluten-free and vegetarian options can be requested.  A suggested donation is $5 per person to help offset the cost of the meal; maximum for a family is $20.  Or, you are welcome to bring along your own dinner and share in the fellowship.


CALLING ALL PRESBYTERIAN WOMEN!  (You don’t need to be part of a circle!)  Mark your calendars for our Fall Gathering, this Saturday, November 2, 9:30 to 11:30 am in Fellowship Hall.  Join us for a continental breakfast, program and fellowship.  Donna Brown, of the Chester County Probation Department, will speak about a program which assists women transitioning from prison or struggling to be successful while on probation or parole.  Please bring a full-size personal care item for the women in this program.


GODLY PLAY TRAINING SESSIONS will be held on Sunday, 11/3 from noon-1:30pm and Monday, 11/4, 7:00-8:30pm. All currently serving shepherds and storytellers are encouraged to attend as well as anyone who substitutes in the program or is interested in getting involved. Middle or high school youth who serve (or would like to serve) as shepherds are also invited. Please RSVP for either session to Amy Lisk. Lunch will be provided on November 3rd.


RISE AGAINST HUNGER.  Next Sunday, November 3, our Extending the Table activity will be assembling and packing 10,000 meals. Come and enjoy participating in a great hands-on mission and fellowship event.  One meal costs 35 cents (total cost of meals = $3,500), so please look for the Rise Against Hunger donation box and bulletin board on your right as you enter Fellowship Hall.  Thanks for your support!




ALL SAINTS SUNDAY, next Sunday, November 3, will be a day to remember and honor the lives and ministry of CPC members who have gone to be with the Lord in the past year. The worship service will include the reading of names, ringing of bells and a candle lighting ceremony.





 Release your “inner animal” at this year’s HEIFER ALTERNATIVE GIFT MARKET! The Annual Heifer Market will be held Sunday December 1.  Give a gift that keeps on giving in a loved one’s honor, and help to make a difference in people’s lives throughout the world! All are welcome to take part by creating a themed table for one of the many animals (and fish and trees) for which we will offer “shares”. Is there a particular animal that moooooves you?  Information about Heifer International, and opportunities to select and work on plans for the Heifer Market will take place during WONDER! on November 6, 13, and 20. THE PROGRESSIVE DINNER will be Saturday, November 9 at 5:30 pm.  This is an annual CPC adult fellowship event for couples or singles.  Participants are asked to bring a dish to share and/or host a course at your home.  Contact Cathy Hankes, Linda Yurkutat or Sally Frederick with questions.  A sign-up sheet is at the Welcome Center.


COAT DRIVE.  Kids Central is once again partnering with Downingtown United Methodist in their Winter Warmth Coat Drive. Now through Nov. 15th we are collecting all sizes of new and gently used winter wear including coats, snow suits/pants, gloves, hats scarves, mittens, and boots. All items should be freshly washed and in good wearable condition. They will be distributed to those in need in our local area. Look for the donation boxes outside the KCP office.


MARK YOUR CALENDAR for November 24, 4 PM for “Deck the Halls” and help dress Central for Advent and Christmas! Enjoy hot chocolate, bring some cookies to share, and share some tasks! Advent craft for children! Sign up at the Welcome Center starting Nov 3.


DAYLIGHT SAVINGS TIME ends next Sunday, November 3.  Don’t forget to set your clocks back one hour to enjoy an extra hour of sleep.
