CHANCEL FLOWERS THIS MORNING are given to the glory of God and in loving memory of Shawn Stevenson by Arlene Stevenson.


THE WORKING GUILD COMMUNITY LUNCHEON will be back this Thursday, October 4, from 11 am to 1 pm.  Choose from a variety of delicious homemade soups, sandwiches, salads and desserts at reasonable prices.  The CPC Working Guild has been supporting the ministry of the church for 42 years through the proceeds of the luncheon.  Come enjoy this opportunity for good food and great fellowship. Take-out orders are available by calling the church office:  610-269-1576.



ENJOY A DELICIOUS PANCAKE BREAKFAST either before or after worship Sunday, October 7.  Proceeds will assist with the work of the Mission Ministry, including the cost of packaging meals for Rise Against Hunger (formerly Stop Hunger Now), which will take place at our November Extending the Table.



NEW MEMBERS CLASS.  If you are interested in exploring membership at CPC, please contact the church office or email [email protected]  We will be holding a New Members Class next Sunday, October 7 at 11 am.  Reading materials will be provided.



PC(USA) PEACE & GLOBAL WITNESS OFFERING – This special offering is designed to deepen our pursuit of peace as a congregation and as individuals.  Twenty-five percent of the offering stays with our church to build peace in our local community, 25% is used regionally, and 50% supports Christ’s peace globally through the reconciliation work of Presbyterian World Mission.  The offering will be collected Sunday, October 7.  Envelopes have been provided in the pews.


SPIRIT RISING WELCOMES Garrett Thomas as our bass player this week (and next!)


CROP WALK IS COMING SOON!  It is Sunday, October 14, at 2 pm.  (Registration begins at 1 pm.) This is an ecumenical event that raises funds and awareness to help end hunger locally and globally.  Walkers leave from the CPC parking lot. Over the last 31 years, our walk has raised over $410,000, with $82,000 of that amount going to help our local food pantries.  Please see Koren Motel or Dan Beam at the Welcome Center today if you would like to participate and need a sponsor form, or if you can help at a registration table.  Thank you.




THE DEACONS LUNCHEON FOR SENIORS AND VETERANS is coming up on Thursday, October 18, from noon to 2 pm.  If you are a Senior or a Veteran, please be our guest. Come enjoy warm fellowship, a delicious meal and some delightful entertainment. Please sign up at the Welcome Center if you wish to attend.  We can always use additional help with the luncheon, such as greeters, servers, and help with clean-up.  Sign up at the Welcome Center.


A REMINDER TO OUR MINISTRIES:  Please fill out a building usage request form for meetings and special events that will take place from September 2018 to June 2019.  If you need a form, please call the church office or email Nancy Hilton, [email protected]


GRAND CENTRAL STATION. Our intergenerational education classes take place Sunday mornings at 11 am on the second through fifth Sundays of the month.  Stop by the Welcome Center if you need assistance in finding your classroom.



PLEASE SIGN UP FOR THIS WEEK‘S WONDER! DINNER at the Welcome Center or online at to participate in dinner.  There is a suggested $5 per person donation to help offset the cost of the meal; maximum for a family is $20.  You can also feel free to bring along your own dinner and share in the fellowship.

HIGH DEF, for students in grades 9-12, gathers every Sunday evening from 6:30-8PM. A special Cookout/Bonfire will be at the Fleckens’ home on October 14. See Amy Lisk for details, or come out tonight!!




SUNDAY NIGHT ADULT ED OPPORTUNITY.  Take an unforgettable journey back in time with “The Holy Land Revealed”, a video and lecture series facilitated by Andy Blackwood.  The series is a blend of religion, archeology, history and culture, and spans the rich history of the Holy Land, beginning with the arrival of the Canaanites in 3,000 B.C., and journeying through the great civilizations of the Babylonians, Greeks and Romans.  The class will meet on Sunday nights in the Prayer Room from 6:15-8:30pm.
