Announcements for January 28, 2018

CHANCEL FLOWERS THIS MORNING are given in honor of Our Church Family by the Blankmeyer Family.

SPIRIT RISING WELCOMES Jeremy Graeff, who is playing guitar with us this morning.

FIRST CALL FOR THE ANNUAL MEETING of the Congregation and Corporation of Central Presbyterian Church on Sunday, February 11, 2018, immediately following worship.

OUR FEBRUARY COMMUNITY LUNCHEON will be held from 11 am to 1 pm this Thursday, February 1.  Come enjoy delicious homemade soups, salads, sandwiches and desserts.  All sales support the CPC Working Guild.  Take-out orders are welcome:  610-269-1576.

NEXT SUNDAY IS SCOUT SUNDAY.  February 4 is Scout Sunday and any scouts interested in participating as greeters/ushers, even if not part of our troop, should contact Travis Lisk at [email protected]

SHARE THE LOVE.  The CPC Mission Ministry asks all of us to join together to “Share the Love” during the month of February in a very tangible way—by bringing food items for The Lord’s Pantry and the Honey Brook Food Pantry.  You will find this week’s shopping list in today’s bulletin for items to be brought back next Sunday, February 4.  Each time you come to church, whether it be on a Sunday morning for worship, or while attending a meeting or rehearsal throughout the week, please consider bringing in an item from the week’s shopping list.

BLANKET THE WORLD WITH LOVE. On Sundays February 4 and 11, Presbyterian Women will be accepting donations for blankets. Sponsored by Church World Service, these blankets are given to families fleeing their homes and recovering from disasters, helping to provide them with warmth and comfort.  Look for us in the Narthex after the service, where you will receive a valentine to honor a loved one for your donation. Thank you for your support.

SHARING THE TALENT!  While CPC will be Sharing the Love with local food banks during the month of February, we will also be Sharing the Talent during Extending the Table on Sunday, February 4.  You will have the opportunity to watch and learn while some of the congregation share their talents.  Pick one station and stay with it, or make your way around to all or many.  It’s up to you!  There will be a CCB tutorial, knitting, sinus therapy and rainbow looming, just to name a few!  Also, enjoy a special hot chocolate bar hosted by the Faith Formation & Fellowship Ministry.

CHILD AND YOUTH PROTECTION SESSION on Monday, February 12 at 6:30pm for all volunteers who work with children under 18 in any of CPC’s programs. We’ll review our church policy and answer any questions that have come up as we seek to faithfully and safely serve in ministry with our children. Choir directors, Godly Play team members, teachers of classes at 11am, nursery and youth volunteers are all encouraged to attend. Childcare will be available.

ASH WEDNESDAY. On Wednesday, February 14, at 7:00 p.m., there will be an Ash Wednesday service held at CPC. The service will include the imposition of ashes. Please join us for this special service of reflection as we begin the Lenten season. Childcare will be available.

NURSERY VOLUNTEERS NEEDED.  One volunteer is needed weekly to serve with Ann Lash in the infant room. Please sign up on the calendar outside the nursery to support this important ministry.

SAVE THE DATE!  The annual Chili and Mac-n-Cheese cook-off is back!  Dust off your bandanas and cowboy boots and join us on Saturday, February 24 from 6 to 9 pm in Fellowship Hall.  Plan to enter your fabulous chili and mac-n-cheese recipes for judging, or just come out to enjoy helping with the judging!  With all of that good food, it will be a win for everybody!  Raven Hill Bluegrass, a bluegrass band from Phoenixville, will be performing from 7 to 8:30 pm.  For more information on the band, check out their website ravenhillbluegrass.com.  Sign-up sheets will be at the Welcome Center the beginning of February.  Hope to see you there!

KIDS CENTRAL PRESCHOOL’S open registration continues throughout the month.  If you are interested in Kids Central for the 2018-2019 school year, please call Robin in the KCP Office at 610-269-0297 for more information and to schedule a tour.
