CHANCEL FLOWERS THIS MORNING are given in loving memory of Melissa Murdoch by Bruce and Patty Murdoch.
OUR DEACONS LIAISON COMMITTTEE continues to work with families in need. This outreach includes help with utility bills, heating oil, rental assistance and support toward food. The loose offering this morning will be given to support their work.
JOIN US THIS MORNING FOR EXTENDING THE TABLE immediately after worship in Fellowship Hall featuring the presentation of Bibles to our 3rd grade students.
TWELFTH DAY OF CHRISTMAS CELEBRATION CONCERT. We invite you to join us this afternoon at 4:00 pm, for our celebration concert featuring the Festival Choir, CPC Handbell Choir, Organ, Piano, and a captivating performance of “Amahl and the Night Visitors.”
NEW OFFICERS. We are grateful for the service of our outgoing officers, and thank them for all they have done for the work of the church. During worship next Sunday, January 14, we will ordain and install our incoming officers beginning their terms as Elders, Deacons and Trustees. New officer nametags are hanging on the peg board in the office. Each new officer also has a church mailbox. Thank you for serving CPC.
YOUR 2018 GIVING ENVELOPES are available for you to pick up at the Welcome Center. Questions about envelopes or electronic giving can be directed to our Financial Administrator Betsy Williams at [email protected] Thank you so much for your faithfulness to CPC.
YOUTH SKI TRIP. Sign up now for a day of skiing at Spring Mountain on Sunday, January 28. We will leave after worship. Costs will depend upon number of signups, but won’t exceed $70. The trip is sponsored by the youth group, but anyone is welcome to join the trip. Children younger than 6th grade require a parent/guardian to attend. Sign-ups due by January 14.
CAFÉ CENTRAL hosts are needed for 2018. Please speak to Margaret Van Gilder or look for the sign-up sheet today at Extending the Table. Everyone enjoys this time of fellowship—thanks for volunteering!
PLAN A CPC ESCAPE ROOM beginning January 14 at 11 am. Youth, parents and interested adults are invited to design, plan and create an Escape Room at CPC that will be open to the congregation and the public as a fund raiser for our youth trips. An escape room challenges small teams of people to solve riddles and puzzles to “escape” the room before time runs out. Fun for all ages. If you’d like to be involved, join the group in room 121.
INFORMATION FOR THE 2017 ANNUAL REPORT is due in to the church office by Monday, January 15. Ministry leaders with questions about the report should contact the office. Thank you.
THE 2018 CHANCEL FLOWER SIGN-UP poster can be found in Fellowship Hall, right inside the door. If you would like to donate the chancel flowers “in honor of” or “in memory of” a loved one, please make your check payable to the CPC Working Guild. The cost is $40. Flowers can be taken home immediately after the service, or you can designate that the Deacons deliver one or both to a shut-in.
INCLEMENT WEATHER. The CPC office normally follows the Downingtown Area School District when there are two-hour delays or closures because of bad weather. You can call the church office to hear a recorded message, or check our website at cpcdowningtown.org to find out if we are closed or opening late.
