FOR OUR VETERANS.  This weekend we offer our thanks and appreciation to all who have served our country, in times of peace and in times of conflict.  Please receive our gratitude for all you have given us.

YOUTH MINISTRY PLANNING MEETING. Parents, volunteers, students in high school or middle school, and anyone else interested in supporting youth ministry planning at CPC is invited to a meeting on Wednesday, November 15 at 7 pm. The gathering will talk about trips, fundraisers and our schedule for 2018. Talk to Amy or email [email protected] if you plan to attend or would like more details.

GOOD WORKS for November will be this Saturday, November 18th. December work day will also be on the third Saturday on December 16. Please RSVP for lunch. Please let us know if you need directions. Thanks again for supporting this mission.

HIS MISSION.  Please look for the trifold poster in the North Narthex this morning with the menu and food items for His Mission.  We will provide toast pork loin, roasted vegetables, applesauce, tossed salad with cranberries and apples, and pumpkin pie.  Donations should be brought to the church by next Sunday, November 19.

SALVATION ARMY BELL RINGING – Once again Central is supporting the Salvation Army by ringing bells for their Red Kettle Campaign on Black Friday, November 24, at the Exton Mall. This is one of their major fundraising efforts that help support their programs throughout the year.  We need two volunteers to cover each hour from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm.  All ages are welcome!  Please sign up at the Welcome Center today.  Contact Kevin Zeeger for more information.

A GREAT BIG THANK YOU to all who set up, cleaned up, paid for extra boxes of meals, and helped pack 16,200 meals during our Rise Against Hunger event last Sunday.  We finished in about 1 hour and 15 minutes of actual packing.  Rise Against Hunger will let us know in the next month or two where the meals we worked on will be sent—stay tuned for details on how and where your hard work impacted people in need.

ANGEL TREE AND DEACONS CHRISTMAS OUTREACH are coming.  Names will be available on November 19.  Angel Tree is an organization that provides gifts to children whose parent or parents are incarcerated.  Deacon Christmas Outreach is a program for children of needy families in the Downingtown and Coatesville areas.  Pick a name and provide a gift that will be distributed to them for Christmas.  Deadline for gifts will be December 17.  Any questions contact Pam Dunn.

A PICTURE IS WORTH 1,000 WORDS!  The Worship Committee invites you to share “thanks giving” for the glory of God on Sunday, November 26 by submitting a photo you have taken which shows this for you.  Email to [email protected] by November 19.

YOU CAN HELP the Honey Brook Food Pantry make their client’s Christmases a little merrier by providing cranberry sauce, turkey gravy, and/or a large aluminum cooking pan for the Pantry’s Christmas distribution.  The pantry provides a turkey and the fixings for Christmas and these are a few of the items that are needed.  We anticipate 250 families receiving the holiday food.  Please place your items in either of the boxes in the narthex.  All items are due by November 29.  Thank you for your generosity.

PARENTS, ENJOY KID-FREE CHRISTMAS SHOPPING courtesy of the CPC Youth! We are offering babysitting for children 10 and under from 9 am – 12 pm or from 1 pm – 4:00 pm on Saturday, December 2. Please email Amy Lisk [email protected] to get your kids registered.  Spaces will be limited.  Be sure to indicate if you want AM or PM.

LOOKING FOR A GOOD BOOK?  Visit the KCP/CPC Book Fair on November 19 and 20 during church and school hours, 9 to 12:30 in the atrium.  New children’s books from Usborne and Spark House, just in time for Christmas giving!  Funds raised will be used to supplement the CPC and KCP Children’s book selections.

STOCKING STUFFERS FOR HONEY BROOK FOOD PANTRY.  Visit the bulletin board outside the nursery to take listings of requested items.  Please return the items by November 19.  We hope to assemble 100 stocking for pre-school/Kindergarten aged kids and 100 stockings for middle/high school aged kids.  Thank you for your generosity.

ANNUAL COAT DRIVE.  Some of us enjoy the weather that winter brings, but for others it is a struggle to stay warm.  Now through November 17, we will be collecting gently used winter wear, including coats, snowsuits, snow pants, gloves, scarves, mittens, hats and boots.  Sizes can be for children, teens and adults.  These items should be clean and in good wearable condition.  Please bring donations by November 17.
