PC(USA) PEACE & GLOBAL WITNESS OFFERING – See today’s insert. This special offering is designed to deepen our pursuit of peace as a congregation and as individuals. Twenty-five percent of the offering stays with our church to build peace in our local community, 25% is used regionally, and 50% supports Christ’s peace globally through the reconciliation work of Presbyterian World Mission. The offering will be collected Sunday, October 1. Envelopes have been provided in the pews.
VOLUNTEER DRIVER NEEDED FOR VISIONCORPS. Looking for anyone who would be available monthly in the afternoon on the third Tuesday of the month to transport visually impaired persons to the Sight Loss Support Group meetings held here at CPC from 12:30 to 2:30 pm. NEW MEMBERS/INQUIRERS CLASS. If you have reached a point in your faith journey where you are considering membership at CPC, there will be a New Members/Inquirers class on Sunday, October 1, after worship, for those who are ready to commit to membership, or for those who have questions about membership. Come find out more about what it means to be a Presbyterian and what CPC believes and does as a body. In support of the Mission Committee, we will enjoy pancakes during the class; child care will be available. Please call the church office at 610-269-1576 if you would like to attend.
MARK YOUR CALENDARS NOW for two fun fellowship events. On Saturday, October 14, we will hold our annual CPC hayride and bonfire at Highland Orchards. We will meet at the Orchard at 6:30 pm with the event to take place from 7-9 pm. On Friday, October 20, we will hold a Coffeehouse featuring Spirit Rising, our CPC praise team, from 7-9 pm. So save those dates, and watch for more information.
SYMBOLIC BREADS for World Communion Sunday, October 1. Do you have a recipe or a source for bread that originates in another part of the world? The Worship Committee would love to have bread representing the heritage of our congregation to share on this special Sunday as we celebrate all who break bread together with us in all parts of the world. If you can provide bread, please notify Anne Cowburn or Tina Bandoian.
THE CHANCEL FLOWER CHART hanging in the north narthex still has openings on October 1 and 15, and November 5 and 26. If you would like to donate flowers “in honor of” or “in memory of” a loved one, please sign up on the chart.
