Children and Youth Ministries

Journey Together

At Central we care deeply about connecting with the youngest in our community, and believe that all are called to Christ’s ministry regardless of age.

Our nursery, staffed with trained child care providers, is available for children up to age 4 and is available for our families on Sunday morning as well as during Wonder! on Wednesdays. Nursery care is often provided for special events and we will advertise when it is available.

Beyond Sunday morning’s Grand Central Station classes, Central offers both Middle School (Impact)  and High School (High Def) Youth Groups that meet weekly, and a 3rd-5th grade fellowship group (Second Fridays). These groups afford many opportunities for the youth to build peer relationships, share and grow their faith in God, and serve the local and broader community. To find out more about our youth ministries contact Amy Lisk.

In addition, an annual Vacation Bible School is held during the summer months for children completing one year of preschool through fifth grade.

CPC’s youth program offers a safe and loving community, centered on Christ, which equips youth:

  • to be disciples,
  • to grow in their faith and identity,
  • and to serve others.

We place value on the following characteristics in our ministry:

Safety: We provide a welcoming, safe, trusting environment to ask questions and share.

Growth: We assist our youth in constructing a faith foundation that will instill confidence and help them learn and grow through adolescence into lifelong disciples of Jesus Christ.

Relational: We seek to nurture peer friendships, mentoring relationships, and intergenerational community.

Scripture-Focused: We use the Bible as a lens as we explore our faith and life.

Service: We strive to practice Christ’s example through compassion, action, and love.

Our mission and values lead us to claim these verses as especially relevant to what we do and why we do it!

Hebrews 10:23-25 23 Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful.24 And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, 25 not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.
