Sunday Mornings at Central

We can’t wait to meet you!

We are so glad you are curious about worship and ministry at Central.
We know that your first time at any church brings up questions.

  • There will be something for everyone during your time with us this morning. Our 9:30 a.m. service consists of “the best of both worlds” traditional and contemporary music from our praise band “Spirit Rising”, our Chancel Choir, and our Handbell Choirs. Children are welcome and encouraged to participate in worship, though young children have some special opportunities that families can choose from during the service. Worship lasts about an hour and is filled with an intentional variety of music, scripture, a sermon, prayers, sacraments, and other ways we connect with God. There are moments for the congregation to participate and opportunities to be quiet and reflect.

  • We believe that by participating in worship we learn to worship. Children are always welcome in services at Central. For the flexibility of our families, we do provide optional nursery care that can be accessed at any time for those ages birth to age 3 in either the infant/ early toddler room or the Pre-K nursery. Changing tables are located in the nursery and accessible restroom. If you need a quiet space to calm or nurse your child, ask an usher or staff member who can direct you to a comfortable location.

Children ages 4 through 2nd grade begin in worship with us, and then are invited to leave for “Godly Play,” a special worship and wonder time designed just for them about 20 minutes in to the service. (In the summers we take a break from Godly Play but offer similar programming for children in this age group). You can register and sign in your child for Godly Play before the service at the cart outside the main office in the North Narthex. Just ask anyone to point you in that direction, and a staff or volunteer will be there to help you.

We want you to know that we care deeply about the safety of our children. All of our program staff and volunteers are checked for child abuse clearances and participate in a special training in child protection we developed at the church. If you would like to see our policy, please ask a staff member and we are happy to provide it.

  • We hope you’ll consider staying after the service to introduce yourself to Pastor Josh, and members of Central. Each week we gather immediately after the service for Cafe Central, a time of fellowship & refreshments.

All are welcome here.

We want you to feel comfortable and free to experience God’s presence when you are with us—
so if there is anything we’ve missed, please email us or call the church office at 610-269-1576.
