Our Mission

Here at Central, love is the foundation for all that we do. It’s the only way we know how to respond to God’s love for us as shown to us through Jesus Christ. Yet, we know that kind of love is not always easy. So, we are determined to love—a love that transcends our differences and a love that extends into our community. And while we might not always get it right, we are committed to figuring out how to love better together.

Invited to wonder, reminds us that part of the journey of faith means learning, worshipping, exploring, creating, and asking questions about what we believe and why it matters in our lives. Central is a community that welcomes these questions, and recognizes that we won’t always have the answers. We trust that God is present in our wondering. We believe that we can use imaginations as well as our whole selves to experience the presence of the holy in our midst.

The love we know as our foundation is also why we are inspired to serve in our community and our world. The end of worship each week is the beginning of the next opportunity to “do justice, love kindness, and walk humbly with God” (Micah 6:8).
